Giving life and hope to the vulnerable in Magdalena

Our Mission

The purpose of Casa Vida y Esperanza is to mentor vulnerable young lives with the truth, love, and hope of Jesus Christ for today and forever by meeting their spiritual, physical, mental, educational, and social needs through discipleship, education, and the security and stability of a home life.

The Situation

Generations of poverty, dysfunction, and lack of gospel light, have produced many dark and difficult situations for children of Magdalena. With no state foster care system, many children have no safe place to go.

Teen pregnancies

Mexico ranks highest of OECD nations in teen pregnancy. Girls age 12-14 gave birth to 11,000 babies in a recent year.

Cyclical poverty

42% of Mexicans live below the poverty line.

Pervasive violence

63% of young children in Mexico experience violence. Mexico has the 20th highest murder rate in the world, with 250,000 annual killings related to drug wars.

Lacking education

Only 25% of the population in Magdalena has completed high school

Our Response

Bring the Gospel to change the trajectory. By providing an interventional refuge for children in a gospel-centered, family style environment, we hope to equip them with the gospel to overcome the obstacles of their traumatic past and become community changers and influencers for Jesus.
